Kip Memmott
Kip Memmott was the Oregon Audits Director. Memmott assumed office on April 17, 2017. Memmott left office on December 18, 2024.
Biography
Memmott is a certified government auditing professional (CGAP). Memmott has three decades of experience as a state and local government auditor in four different states.[1]
For six years through 1999 he was an auditor for the Arizona Auditor General. For seven years, through May 2007, he was an auditor manager for the government of San Diego County, California. For more than nine years, through October 2016, he was the director of audit services for the city and county of Denver, Colorado. He became the chief audit executive for the Oregon Treasurer in December 2016 and held that position until appointed state audit director five months later.[2][3]
In 1990, Memmott graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor’s degree in U.S. history. He graduated with a master’s degree in U.S. history and public administration from Arizona State University in 1995. Memmott has also obtained professional public administration certifications from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and the Brookings Institution. He and his wife have two children and live in Salem, Oregon.[4][5]

Political career
Oregon Audits Director (2017-2024)
Memmott was appointed as the state's audits director in 2017 by Oregon Secretary of State Dennis Richardson.[6] Memmott resigned before his term end date ahead of the governor transition.[7]
