Kortyna-Rapach is a Beloit School District teacher and a former teacher in the Janesville School District.[1]

Three of the nine seats on the Janesville School District school board were up for general election on April 5, 2016. The seats of Kristin Hesselbacher, Karl Dommershausen, and Cathy Myers were up for election. Dommershausen and Myers filed for re-election and faced challengers Michelle Haworth, Jim Millard, and Stephanie Kortyna-Rapach. Myers was successful in her bid for re-election and was joined on the board by newcomers Haworth and Millard. [2]

The Janesville School District is located in Rock County in south-central Wisconsin. The county seat is Janesville. Rock County was home to 161,188 residents in 2014, according to the United States Census Bureau.[5] The district was the ninth-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 10,390 students.[6]
