Judge Kolkoski announces retirement

Las Vegas, Nevada: Chief Judge Betsy Kolkoski is retiring from the Las Vegas Municipal Court at the end of her current term. She made this announcement on September 13, 2010, saying that she plans to retire at the end of her current term rather than seek re-election in January of 2011. "The time has come to pass the reins to a new generation," she stated.
Kolkoski was first appointed to the Municipal Court in 2000 and she became the Chief Judge in July of 2009. Prior to her judicial appointment, she worked with the Nevada Division of Aging Services as an elder rights attorney.[1]
