Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township is located in Marion County, Indiana. The county seat of Marion County is Hamilton. Marion County was home to 928,281 residents in 2013, according to the United States Census Bureau.[2] During the 2011-2012 school year, the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township was the sixth-largest school district by enrollment in Indiana and served 16,276 students.[3]

The United States Census Bureau found that 27.6 percent of Marion County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 23.0 percent for Indiana as a whole.
