Madonna's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[1]

  • Excerpt: "I will work hard to lower the tax burden on Rhode Island families and businesses, as well as work to create jobs. Too many people are leaving the state in search of jobs and places to raise their families. We need to give them a reason to stay."

Elections for the Rhode Island State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 25, 2014. Incumbent Leonidas Raptakis was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Michael Madonna was unopposed in the Republican primary. Frank Hyde was removed from the ballot before the Democratic primary. Raptakis defeated Madonna in the general election.[2][3][4]
