Each year, state and local education agencies use tests and other standards to assess student proficiency. Although the data below was published by the U.S. Department of Education, proficiency measurements are established by the states. As a result, proficiency levels are not comparable between different states and year-over-year proficiency levels within a district may not be comparable because states may change their proficiency measurements.[12]

In the May 2014 election, voters decided on a $59.1 million bond initiative. The bond's purpose was to assist in "the construction, acquisition and equipment of school buildings in the District (including the rehabilitation, renovation, expansion and improvement thereof), the purchase of the necessary sites for school buildings and the purchase of new school buses" according to the proposition issued by the district. If the bond was approved, the estimated total tax rate of the district would be approximately $1.5377 per $100 of taxable assessed value.[13]
