Axiom Strategies is headquartered in Kansas City. The firm was founded in 2005 by Jeff Roe. As a political consulting company, Axiom plans campaigns, designs voter targeting campaigns, conducts polling and analysis, and performs opposition research. According to Axiom's website, the organization also buys media space and designs direct mail for campaigns and candidates.[1]

Locations

In 2010, Axiom became the largest general consulting firm in the U.S with offices in Kansas City, Washington, D.C., Austin and San Francisco.[2]

In October 2017, Axiom merged with Revolvis, a Republican strategy firm located in California. The merger, according to Kansas City Business Journal expanded Axiom to include additional offices in Sacramento, San Francisco, and Seattle.[3]

2012 elections

In 2012, Axiom was employed by Missourians for Equal Credit Opportunity, a group opposed to the state limiting interest rates on payday loans, to help in managing the campaign, conducting communications, conducting localized operations, creating grassroots outreach, polling, building a website among other services.[4][5] The firm, according to Kansas City Business Journal, was paid almost $644,000 for their services.[6]

2016 elections

Ted Cruz presidential campaign

Axiom Strategies was the primary consulting firm working on Ted Cruz's 2016 presidential campaign Roe was Cruz's campaign manager.[7] According to Axiom's website, the firm worked to target voters in Iowa ahead of the caucuses to deliver Cruz's message across platforms. The group notes, "We tailored advertising in Iowa not only by a voter’s modeled or identified top issue, but by their personality type and by complex candidate preference segmentations."[8]

Catherine Hanaway gubernatorial campaign

In 2015, Axiom was running Kansas gubernatorial candidate Catherine Hanaway's (R) campaign when the Democratic candidate, Tom Schweich shot and killed himself in February. At the time of his death, Axiom had released ads opposing Schweich. While Axiom was running Hanaway's campaign, Jeff Roe, Axiom founder and principal, admitted, in April 2015, that he had paid for the ads himself. According to The Kansas City Star, Schweich had been talking about killing himself well before the ads aired.[9]
