North Carolina: A new judge will join the 5th District Court, since Governor Beverly Perdue appointed Robin Wicks Robinson to succeed John J. Carroll. Robinson was most recently an attorney in private practice, though has also served as a mediator and arbitrator.[1]

During the announcement, Gov. Perdue said, "Robin will be a great asset to the citizens of the Fifth District on the District Court bench. The depth of her legal experience and her strong commitment to the rule of law uniquely qualify her to serve in this position."[1]

Robinson ran for election to the court in 2010 and was narrowly defeated by Chad Hogston. She must run for the seat in the 2012 election if she hopes to continue serving.
