Bonnie Sudderth (Republican Party) is the Chief Justice of the Texas Second District Court of Appeals. She assumed office in 2015. Her current term ends on December 31, 2030.
Sudderth (Republican Party) ran for re-election as Chief Justice of the Texas Second District Court of Appeals. She won in the general election on November 5, 2024.
Sudderth was elevated to chief justice by Republican Governor Greg Abbott in 2017.[1]
Biography
Education
Sudderth earned her B.S. in public affairs and public administration from the University of Southern California, graduating magna cum laude in 1982, and her J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law in 1985. She also attended L'universite de Dijon in 1985 and the University of Exeter in England 1984.[2]

Prior to joining the court of appeals, Sudderth was a judge for Texas District 352 in Tarrant County, Texas.[3] She was re-elected on November 6, 2012 to a term that would have expired in 2016.[4]
