I am a business owner in Kansas City that was elected to the Grandview C4 School Board to serve the community, support S.T.E.M. education and the teaching of the classics like Mark Twain & William Shakespeare and help Grandview high school seniors connect with business internships so that once they graduate high school, they have learned job skills and connected to business owners that can help mentor them. I grew up in the Kansas City area and have personally supported education causes like Flight 300 and other charity related efforts.
  • STEM Education is the key to our children succeeding in the job market. There are many positions in science, technology, engineering and math and our Grandview kids might as well be the ones to go after these great career opportunities.
  • Teach the classics in our schools. Grandview has great teachers and we need to focus on teaching the classics from William Shakespeare, Mark Twain etc to help our kids be well read and well rounded for life.
  • Business Internships for High School Seniors. Our children can ramp up while in High School and get going on a career path by being mentored by business owners; we need to continue to grow this effort.
I'm very passionate about school safety and providing our children the footing they need for long term success. I care about our community investing in the high ROI areas and being prudent with taxpayer money. We need to make that public (taxpayer) dollars spent, is either about improving our quality of life or will yield a major ROI.
Robert Kennedy. He was strong and an advocate for people. He cared about America and its success. He wanted freedom for Americans and he worked relentlessly for equal opportunity and fairness.
I like to vote for candidates that are NOT career politicians. I think citizens should participate and those with servant heart, are ideal for public office. I think you should have achieved some level of success and raised a family before seeking public office also.
To advise the Superintendent and give him/her my best advice be it hiring decisions, business connections etc.
I want to provide our Superintendent with good advice and help parents be part of their kids' education. We need to parental involvement because kids do better when their parents are engaged with their academic success.
Grandview and parts of Kansas City.
We must provide more internship opportunities for all of our high school seniors and continue to expand S.T.E.M. education and keep on the cutting edge of science, technology, engineering and math.
Covid was very hard on our schools. I think we need to reach out to qualified and talented individuals that may never have considered education as a career path.
I think our children need quality meals. If a child isn't receiving proper nutrition, then the school should help out. Also, mental health is a key issue for the success of our school children.
I think good teaching is multi-faceted. You want your children to grow, and develop, and to have a better understanding of how to succeed in life. If our teachers prepare our kids academically and from a solid character standpoint, then our kids will be on the right track.
The district's finances are okay for the foreseeable future per the recent (2021) levy that was approved by voters.
I think we need to be thorough. We need limited points of entry and exit and we need proper security which depends on differing factors by location and situation.
Mental health professionals are absolutely important. We need people that are highly skilled and adept at assessing if a child is struggling.
Shutting down our schools was very difficult on our children. Going forward, we need to learn from the shutdown, and do everything we can to make sure we are doing what is right for our kids.
