The National Crime Prevention and Privacy Compact is an interstate compact among 34 states. It allows the states to share criminal records in response to non-criminal justice requests using an online system.[1][2]
Text of the compact
The legislature of each member state passes the laws with certain modifications, but the core of the legislation remains the same.[3]
