Four seats on the Natrona County Schools Board of Trustees were up for general election on November 4, 2014. Incumbent David H. Applegate faced four candidates in this race. Incumbents Dave Driggers, Pat Keefe and Suzanne Sandoval did not file for re-election.

Incumbent Applegate, Toni Billings, Clark Jensen and Debbie McCullar won the general election.

Natrona County Schools is located in Natrona County, Wyoming. The county seat of Natrona County is Casper. Natrona County is home to 75,450 residents, according to the United States Census Bureau.[1] In the 2011-2012 school year, Natrona County Schools was the second-largest school district in Wyoming and served 12,438 students.[2]

Demographics

Natrona County underperformed in comparison to the rest of Wyoming in terms of higher education achievement in 2012. The United States Census Bureau found that 22.0 percent of Natrona County residents aged 25 years and older had attained a bachelor's degree compared to 24.3 percent for Wyoming as a whole. The median household income in Natrona County was $55,786 compared to $56,573 for the state of Wyoming. The poverty rate in Natrona County was 9.3 percent compared to 11.0 percent for the entire state.[1]

Voter and candidate information

The Natrona County Board of Trustees consists of nine members elected to four-year terms. They serve the district at-large. There was no primary election, and the general election was held on November 4, 2014. Four seats were up for election in 2014.[3]

Candidate began filing nominating petitions on August 6, 2014. The filing deadline for school board candidates to get on the ballot in the general election was August 25, 2014.[4]
