Sanford R. Steckler is a judge for the 8th Chancery District of Mississippi. He was appointed to the position in December 2001.[1][2] He was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and expires in 2018.[3][4]

General: He defeated Ronnie Cochran in the general election on November 4, 2014, receiving 59.6 percent of the vote. [4] 

2010

Steckler was re-elected to the Mississippi Chancery Court after running unopposed.[2]

Education

Steckler received a B.B.S. (Bachelor of Business Studies) from the University of Mississippi, going on to earn his J.D. there as well. He was admitted to the bar in 1966.[5]

Career

Prior to joining the bench in 2001, Steckler was a member of the Mississippi State Senate from 1972 to 1980.[1]
