James C. Ellefson is a judge of District 2B in Iowa. He was appointed by Governor Terry Branstad in January 2012 to succeed Carl D. Baker.[1] He was retained in 2014 for a term that expired on December 31, 2020.[2]

Ellefson was retained to the 2B District Court with 72.7 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [2]

Ellefson received his J.D. from Drake University.[1]

Before joining the court, Ellefson was an attorney in private practice.[1]
