Ginger Poynter is an attorney in Mobile. She ran for election to the Baldwin County District Court in Alabama in 2014.[1] She ran for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court as a write-in candidate in 2012, but dropped out of the race before the general election.[2][3]

General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 26.8 percent of the vote. She competed against Michelle M. Thomason. [1]

Poynter received her J.D. from the Regent School of Law in Virginia.[4]

Career

Poynter has spent ten years as an attorney in private practice. Before that, she served as a prosecutor in Texas.[4]
