The Alabama Emergency Legislators, Amendment 4, also known as Amendment 4, was on the ballot in Alabama on December 5, 1961, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed to authorize the legislature, in the case of an enemy attack, to appoint temporary interim legislators to maintain the continuity of government.[1]
