The Alabama Economic and Industrial Development Amendment, also known as Amendment 3, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 2, 2004, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed that certain activities undertaken in a county or a municipality for the purpose of economic development could be conducted by the county commission.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to authorize a county commission of any county or any municipality therein to perform certain actions for the purpose of economic and industrial development in the county. (Proposed by Act 2004-94)[2][3]
