Minnesota System for Biennial Elections, Amendment 2 (1883)

The Minnesota System for Biennial Elections Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the November 6, 1883 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment, where it was approved. The measure established that the official year for the state would begin on the first Monday in January, when all terms of office would be terminated. The measure also established that general elections would be held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November and that biennial elections would begin in 1884.[1]
