J. Adam Peterson was a judge on the Jackson County Circuit Court in Oregon, which is located in the state's 1st Judicial District. He was appointed to this position by Governor John Kitzhaber in September 2013.[1][2] He was defeated in his bid for re-election in 2014 and stepped down when his term expired at the end of the year.[3]

Primary: He was successful in the primary on May 20, 2014, receiving 48.4 percent of the vote. He competed against William Francis and David Hoppe.
General: He was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 41.9 percent of the vote. He competed against David Hoppe. [3][4] 

Education

Peterson received his undergraduate degree from Willamette University and his J.D. from the Creighton University School of Law.[2]

Career

Peterson worked for the Jackson County District Attorney's Office prior to his judicial appointment in 2013. He was assigned to the Southern Oregon High Tech Crimes Task Force and was designated as a special assistant U.S. attorney for the District of Oregon.[2]
