A Ferry County Rail Trail Measure was on the November 3 ballot in Ferry County for county voters.

The measure failed.[1]

  • Non-Motorized Use, No: 1,558 (60.72%)Defeatedd
  • Motorized Vehicle Use, Yes: 1,008 (39.28%)

The measure called for voters to decide whether an abandoned railroad trail should allow motorized vehicles. The vote, however, will not necessarily result in immediate action. County officials said that the vote is non-binding and will be used as guidance for future planning. County commissioners voted on August 10, 2009 to place the measure after the issue was referred from the County Recreational Trail Committee on August 6.[2]
