This measure sought to add to the current fire levy by a rate of $.18 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for fire protection services in the township.[2]

The question on the ballot:
An additional tax for the benefit of LIBERTY TOWNSHIP for the purpose of FIRE PROTECTION at a rate not exceeding 1.8 mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to $0.18 for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for 5 YEARS, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013.[3] |
