A Mesa County Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Question was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Mesa County.

This measure was approved

  • YES 27,685 (49.76%)Approveda
  • NO 26,460 (47.24%)[1]

This question asked county residents if they wanted to ban marijuana dispensaries and production in the unincorporated areas of the county.[2]

Those already in operation were pushing for regulation of the marijuana operations rather than a vote on banning the businesses, which they said help patients and a loss of the resource could be devastating.[3] If approved, local towns and cities would still be able to make their own rules regarding dispensaries in their areas. One dispensary business owner noted that regulation and rules would have made the situation better rather than an outright ban on marijuana locations.[4]
