A Monroe County School District Levy Continuation measure was on the January 31, 2012 ballot in Monroe County.
This measure was approved
- YES 9,869 (74.6%)
- NO 3,358 (25.3%)[1]
This measure sought to continue the current school levy which is set at a rate of .5 mills for a further four years in order to continue to pay for operational costs in the school district.[2] This money will actually be shifted from capital outlay projects to the operations budget for the schools. This measure was previously asked in 2008 and was approved by a large margin. District officials noted that without the continuation of this levy school programs and services would have needed to be cut in order to maintain the budget.[3]

The question on the ballot:
| Shall the District continue to enact a yearly ad valorem tax of .5 mill, for four (4) years beginning July 1, 2012, for operating purposes?[4] |
