A St. Johns County School Property Tax Increase measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in Saint Johns County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 32,443 (45.49%)
  • NO 38,872 (54.51%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure sought to increase the county property tax rate by .5 mills for a further five years in order to better pay for critical needs of the schools as well as maintenance and equipment needs.[2] The school Superintendent set up local meetings in order to help educate voters about this issue and the needs of the school. Discussions about this measure as well as the state measure to reduce class sizes would be discussed.[3]
