Paul Newton (Mississippi)

Paul Newton is a 2008 candidate for the District 2, Place 2 seat on the Mississippi Supreme Court. He ran against incumbent Oliver Diaz and "Bubba" Pierce. After qualifying, Newton eventually pulled out of the race before the election.[1]

Biography

Newton's career experience includes working as an attorney in Gulfport, Mississippi.

Outpaced in Funding: 2008 Race

As of late June 2008, Newton had been outpaced in terms of campaign contributions by his opponents. Oliver Diaz had collected $3,400, while opponent Randy "Bubba" Pierce had raised $78,119. Newton had reported no contributions by the June 10 report.[2]
