The North Carolina Hospital Construction Bonds Referendum, also known as Referendum 8, was on the ballot in North Carolina on November 7, 1961, as a legislatively referred bond question. It was defeated. The measure would have issued $500,000 in bonds for the construction of local hospitals.[1]
