I am a former prosecutor and Director of Elections. I’ve worked my entire professional career to protect our families from crime and expand voting access for all residents. I will bring that unique experience with me as councillor. I will work to expand treatment for mental illness and addiction, fully fund public safety, and grow successful gun violence prevention initiatives. I will also continue to fight for voting rights and voting access, particularly by being an advocate for adequate funding.

  • As a former prosecutor, Brienne Delaney has seen first-hand the toll violent crime takes on our neighborhoods. As councillor, she will focus intently on increasing the city’s investment in mental health and addiction treatment, support the expansion of the city’s gun violence reduction initiatives, and fully fund public safety.
  • Second, Brienne understands that Indianapolis has long struggled with significant infrastructure challenges. For families across Indianapolis, repaired streets and ample sidewalks are not merely a transportation issue – they represent a safety issue. Brienne will fully support efforts to address these longstanding challenges by working with surrounding communities and other partners to seek sufficient and full funding from the State of Indiana.
  • Finally, as a mom, Brienne believes that the cornerstone of the future of our city rests in our schools. She is committed to supporting students, investing in teachers and facilities, and listening to families.
