Harris County, Texas, held a general election for Houston Community College Board of Trustees on November 7, 2017, with a runoff scheduled for December 9, 2017. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was August 21, 2017.
The District IV, District V, and District IX seats on the board were up for election in 2017. District IX Trustee Christopher Oliver, who pleaded guilty to bribery charges and was censured by the board in July 2017, did not run for re-election.[1][2] Incumbent Carolyn Evans-Shabazz defeated Daniel Caldwell I and Manny Barrera in the general election for the District IV seat on the Houston Community College Board of Trustees.[3]
