Dalton Newman was a Democratic candidate for District 3 representative on the Acadia Parish School Board in Louisiana. He lost in the November 4, 2014, general election against Delo Hebert Jr.

All eight seats on the Acadia Parish School Board were up for election in 2014. Four of the seats faced contested elections, while the remaining four did not see the ballot due to a lack of opposition. Candidates who were unopposed at the close of the filing period were considered elected as of that day.

Jeffrey A. Cavell (I) challenged District 1 incumbent Israel Syria (D). District 3 incumbent Lynn Shamsie (D) did not run for re-election. Delo Hebert Jr. (D) and Dalton Newman (D) ran for the open seat. David Lalande (R), the District 5 incumbent, was challenged by Blane Harmon (I). Candy Leger (I) opposed incumbent Gene I. Daigle (D) for the District 6 seat.[1]

The following incumbents were elected without opposition at the close of the candidate filing period: Douglas J. LaCombe (I) in District 2, John Suire (R) in District 4, James Higginbotham, Jr. (I) in District 7 and Milton Simar (D) in District 8.[1]
