Gregory Motyka
Gregory Motyka was a judge for the Third Judicial District in Alaska. He was appointed on July 26, 1991, by Governor Walter Hickel.[1] Motyka was retained in the November 4, 2014 elections to a term that expired in 2018. Motyka left office at the end of his term.[2]
Education
Motyka earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn in 1971. He earned his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1976.[3][4]
Career
Motyka worked from 1986 to 1989 with Thwaites & Motyka. From 1977 to 1980, he was an assistant district attorney for New York County, New York. He was an attorney in private practice in Anchorage for 11 years. He was appointed to be a district judge in 1991.[4]
Elections
2014
Motyka was retained to the Third District Court with 62.6 percent of the vote on November 4, 2014. [5]
2010
Motyka was retained to the district court in 2010.[6] The Alaska Judicial Council supported his retention.[7][8]
