Howard Jones ran for election to the Rutherford County Schools to represent Zone 3 in Tennessee. Jones lost in the general election on August 6, 2020.

Jones was a candidate for the Zone 3 seat on the Rutherford County Board of Education in Tennessee. He was defeated by fellow challenger Lisa W. Moore in the general election on August 7, 2014.

Jones is a lifelong resident of Rutherford County. At the time of his candidacy, Jones was serving as the production superintendent at Johnson Controls. He and his wife, Kathy, have one daughter.[1]

The August 7, 2014, general election ballot for Zone 3 included candidates Veronica Buchanan, Howard Jones and Lisa W. Moore. The Zone 7 ballot included candidates Jody Lynn Bond, Jim Estes, Gabriel Fancher, Patrick McCarthy and Paul Peavy. Zone 4 incumbent Wayne Blair faced candidate Eric Tuttobene.
