Howard Stopeck was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 5th Congressional District of Georgia. Stopeck ran unopposed in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012. He lost to incumbent John Lewis in the general election.[1]

Stopeck ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 5th District. Stopeck won the nomination on the Republican ticket. He ran unopposed in the Republican primary.[3] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012. He was defeated by John Lewis in the general election on November 6, 2012.
