Biography
Beiser is a math teacher in the Sweetwater Union High School District and has been recognized as the San Diego Math Teacher of the Year in 2009. Beiser earned his bachelor's degree from Willamette University and his master's degree from the University of Phoenix. In 2011, he was awarded with the Harvey Milk Leadership Award and the San Diego Democratic Club Service Distinction Award.[1][2]

Kevin Beiser ran against challenger Amy C. Redding in the primary election on June 3, 2014. Beiser and Redding faced off again in the general election on November 4, 2014. Beiser defeated Redding a second time to win re-election to the District B seat.

Funding
Beiser began the race with an existing account balance of $52,726.95 from his previous campaign. He reported $6,599.00 in contributions and $18,717.07 in expenditures to the San Diego Registrar of Voters, leaving his campaign with $40,598.88 on hand.[3]
