Lisa Polak Edgar is a former member of the Florida Public Service Commission, the state body charged with regulating the state's utility companies. She was first appointed to this position in 2005 by Gov. Jeb Bush (R).[1] Edgar retired in 2017, at the end of her third term. On September 15, 2016, Gov. Rick Scott (R) announced that Donald Polmann would serve as Edgar's successor.[2]

Edgar served as Deputy Secretary for Planning and Management in the Florida Department of Environmental Protection from 1990-2005. Additionally, she has been Senior Cabinet Aide at the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Professor at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, Staff Counsel/Legislative Analyst for Florida Senate Committees on Reapportionment and Regulated Industries, and Chief Analyst on Environmental Policy in the Governor's Office of Policy and Budget.[3]

In addition to her three-term tenure as a member of the commission, Edgar served as Chair of the Florida Public Service Commission from 2006 to 2010.[3]

2013

Edgar was re-appointed to a third four-year term on the Florida Public Service Commission by Gov. Rick Scott (R) on September 21, 2012. While some 20 candidates initially sought the post, the PSC Nominating Council submitted four candidates to the governor. The other three included former state Rep. Ken Littlefield, Luz Weinberg and Donald Polmann.[4][5]

2009

Gov. Charlie Crist re-appointed Edgar to a four-year term in 2009, ending on January 1, 2013.[1]

Edgar was first appointed to the Florida Public Service Commission in 2005 by Gov. Jeb Bush (R).
