Tommie Stewart
Tommie Stewart is a former member of the Alabama State Board of Education, representing District 5 from 2020 to 2021.[1]
Biography
Dr. Tommie Stewart is a former dean of Alabama State University's College of Visual and Performing Arts. She also previously served as the chair of the Department of Theatre Arts at Alabama State University. During her career as a professional actress, she appeared in various films, television shows, and live theater performances.[2]

Political Career
Alabama State Board of Education
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey appointed Stewart to represent District 5 on the Alabama State Board of Education effective immediately on January 7, 2020. Stewart's appointment followed the death of former District 5 Board member Ella Bell in November 2019.[1]
