Tonchi Weaver was a candidate for Area 5 representative on the Rapid City Area School District Board of Education in South Dakota. Weaver was defeated in the by-district general election on June 6, 2017.

Two of the seven seats on the Rapid City Area School District Board of Education in South Dakota were up for by-district general election on June 6, 2017. Newcomer Mike Roseler was the only candidate to file in the race for Area 4 and was automatically elected. The Area 5 incumbent also chose not to file for re-election. Christine Stephenson defeated Tonchi Weaver in the race for the seat.[1][2]
