Sherri Potvin was an assistant judge on the Vermont Superior Court in Grand Isle County, Vermont.[1][2] She was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that expired on January 31, 2019.[3]

Potvin ran for re-election to the Vermont Superior Courts, as an assistant judge of Grand Isle County.
Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on August 26, 2014, receiving 52.6 percent of the vote. She competed against John Lawrence.
General: She faced Democrat John Lawrence and Republican incumbent Joanne R. Batchelder in the general election on November 4, 2014, and won with 37 percent of the vote. Candidates competed for two open seats. [3][4] 

2010

Potvin was re-elected to the associate judge position. She received 59.4% of the vote in the primary. She was then re-elected (along with Joanne R. Batchelder) with 41.72% of the vote in the general election on November 2, 2010.[5][6][7]

Education

Potvin earned an undergraduate degree in paralegal studies from Champlain College. She has since taken additional classes from the Community College of Vermont.[8]

Career

While on the bench, Potvin has simultaneously served as office manager for the Lake Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce. She also worked in the following capacities:

  • Assistant, Zoning Board of Adjustment and Planning Commissions in Grand Isle
  • Assistant to the dean, School of Education and Social Services at the University of Vermont
  • Financial specialist, Defresne-Henry Consulting Engineers of South Burlington[8]
