Shirley C. Byers was a 2014 candidate for the Third Judicial District (Place 2) in Mississippi.[1] She previously ran for election to the court in 2010.[2]

Byers ran for election to the Third Judicial District.
Byers earned 44.2% of the votes in the general election. Because no candidate received over 50% of the general election votes, Kelly Luther and Shirley C. Byers, the top two candidates, competed in a runoff on November 25, 2014. Luther won decisively in the runoff, bringing in 76.3% of the vote, compared to Byers' 23.7%.[1]
2010
Byers was defeated by Robert Elliott in the general election for the Third Judicial District, winning only 43% of the vote.[2]
