Cedillo ran for election to the Waller County Court, Texas.
Primary: She was successful in the Democratic primary on March 4, 2014, receiving 60.05 percent of the vote. She competed against Sam Eng.
General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 27.3 percent of the vote. She competed against Trey Duhon.

Cedillo receiving a B.A. in history from the University of Texas at Austin, going on to earn her J.D. there in 1995.[4]

- 2009-2012: Commissioner, Waller County Precinct 3
- 2001-2004: City Councilwoman, City of Prairie View City Council[4]
Cedillo has been a licensed attorney for over 15 years.[4]
