I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I am a first generation college graduate and the first lawyer in my family. I currently serve Harris County as a prosecutor at the Harris County District Attorneys office. I have been practicing criminal law since 2012. I have diverse trial experience, and currently work on post-conviction investigations. If elected, I’d be the first openly gay Latino judge elected in Harris County.
  • I plan to get the 230th back to trial more consistently to help reduce the caseload and increase access to justice.
  • I will use my experience to strike a just balance between fairness and community safety.
  • I will focus on resolving cases involving violent cases and cases where defendants have multiple cases pending.
I am passionate about making sure that each person in the criminal justice system has their case addressed efficiently and fairly. I am passionate about make sure that our courts are incubators for generating the truth. I believe good and responsible bail practices result in a safer community where people who suffer from poverty and addiction are not detained while their low-level, non-violent case is pending, and where people charged with violent crimes are closely monitored while their case is resolved as efficiently. I am willing to put in the work to make Harris County fairer and safer for everyone.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno - Encanto
I want to get to work for Harris County. I know I can get to trial more consistently and thereby help with the overload of cases in the court.
In government yes. In politics no. Judges are supposed to be neutral.
