Jane Wiseman is a judge for District 1 Office 2 of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. She assumed office in 2005. Her current term ends on January 10, 2027.
Wiseman ran for re-election for the District 1 Office 2 judge of the Oklahoma Court of Civil Appeals. She won in the retention election on November 3, 2020.
Democratic Governor Brad Henry appointed her to the court in March 2005, and she was retained by voters on November 7, 2006.[1][2] She was last retained in 2014.[3]
Education
Wiseman received a B.A. from Cornell University in 1969, an M.A. in American history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1971, and a J.D. from the University of Tulsa College of Law 1973.[1]
Career
Wiseman began her legal career during law school as a clerk for the firm Rosenstein, Fist & Ringold. She later became a legal intern and then an associate until 1975. She then worked as a sole practitioner until January 1977. She was appointed a special judge of Tulsa County that month and worked in this position until 1981, when she became a district judge in District 14 (Tulsa County). On this court, she worked in the Family Relations Division and then the Civil Division. She served on this court until she was appointed to the court of civil appeals.[1]
