Joel D. Novak was a judge of District 5C of Iowa. He was appointed to this position in 1979.[1] He was retained on November 2, 2010.[2][3] On September 6, 2011, he retired and assumed senior status.[4]

Biography and Education

Novak was born in Rock Island, IL. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Iowa in 1962 and 1965. He is now married and has four children.[1]

Career

Novak worked as a trial lawyer for a private firm from 1965 until his judicial appointment in 1979.[1]

2010 election

Novak was retained on November 2, 2010 with 70.92% of the vote.[2][5]
