John T. Paulson was the presiding district court judge for the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. Paulson was based out of Valley City, North Dakota in Barnes County. He became the presiding judge on February 1, 1995. He retired in June 2014.[1][2]

2010 election

Paulson was re-elected to the Southeast Judicial District of North Dakota. He received 52.94% of the vote.[3]

Education

Judge Paulson received his Bachelor of Science in business administration from University of California Berkley and his J.D. from the University of North Dakota.[4]

Career

Paulson served as a municipal judge for Valley City from 1968 to 1970. He was in private law practice from 1967 to 1980 and was Barnes County State's Attorney from 1970 to 1980. He was elected to the district court in November 1980, 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004.[1]
