Jodi Debbrecht Switalski
Jodi Debbrecht Switalski is a former judge of the Fifty-First Judicial District Court in Michigan. She was appointed to the court in November 2010 and resigned in December 2015.[1]
Debbrecht Switalski ran for Macomb County prosecutor in 2020. She was defeated in the Democratic primary on August 5, 2020.[2]
Education
Debbrecht earned her undergraduate degree and her J.D. from the University of Missouri.[3]
Career
Before she went to law school, Debbrecht worked as a victim advocate for a women's shelter, a law enforcement unit, and then the local circuit court. She served as a registered lobbyist in support of legislation on domestic violence and sexual assault after graduating from law school. She has been a trial attorney for the Macomb County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and has also worked as an appointee in the 45A District Court as magistrate and court administrator.[3]
2012 election
Debbrecht defeated Andrea Dean in the general election on November 6, winning 60.78 percent of the vote.[4][5]

The WLAM rated candidates running for judicial office with one of four ratings: Outstanding, Well Qualified, Qualified or No Rating.
Debbrecht was rated as Outstanding.[6]
