Andrea Marceca Strong is a judge on the York County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. She was elected in 2011 to a term that expires in 2022.

2011 election

Strong won both parties' primaries on May 17. She received 15.3 percent in the Democratic primary and 17.9 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.[1] She won one of two open seats in the general election on November 8. Strong received 48.9 percent of the vote.[2]

Campaign statements

Strong said she would make sure her courtroom provided a "fair playing field" where lawyers are not stifled or pressured in presenting their clients' cases. However, she would step in to make court rules are followed to ensure that the court renders a fair resolution.[3]

"If the parties want the judge's impression and guidance, I will be glad to do that," said Strong, who does training sessions for judges and lawyers as a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Institute.[3]

Education

Strong received her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991 and her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1994.[4]

Professional career

Strong has previously served as a part time prosecutor in York County, Pennsylvania in the Domestic Relations Section. She has also worked in private practice in both Maryland and Pennsylvania.[4]
