Daniel McCarthy (Pennsylvania)

Daniel McCarthy is an appointee of the Lehigh County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. McCarthy was appointed to the court by Democratic Governor Tom Wolf on June 13, 2016. His nomination requires the confirmation of the state senate.[1]
McCarthy lost in the 2011 general election for a seat on the court.
Biography
McCarthy earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at El Paso and his J.D. from the University of Houston Law School.[2] After his admission to the bar, McCarthy served the U.S. Attorney Office for the Southern District of Texas. McCarthy has been actively involved in private practice since 1976.[2]

McCarthy won the Democratic Party primary on May 17, 2011. He received 33.9 percent in the Democratic primary and 12 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.[3] He was defeated by Douglas G. Reichley in the general election on November 8, 11, receiving 43.6 percent of the vote.[4]
