James McMaster is a judge on the Bucks Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was appointed by Governor Ed Rendell and in October 2010, and approved by the Pennsylvania Senate.[1] His current term expires on January 2, 2022.[2]

Education

McMaster earned his B.A. from Penn State University in 1974. He earned his J.D. from Rutgers School of Law in Camden in 1977.[3]

Career

McMaster has been actively engaged in private practice for 33 years. During this time he served as a Solicitor for Bensalem Township School District and Phoenixville Regional Planning Committee. He then worked for the Lower Southampton Township Planning Commission until he was elected as the Township Auditor for Lower Southampton Township where he served from 1976 to 1979. He served as a Special Counsel for West Vincent Township, and as the Pennsylvania General Counsel for the Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commission. He was appointed as a Judge on the Bucks Court of Common Pleas by Governor Ed Rendell in October of 2010.[3]

2011 election

McMaster ran for the seat he was appointed to in 2010. He defeated Michael D. Rubin in the Democratic and Republican primaries on May 17, 2011.[4] He was elected after running unopposed in the general election in November.[5]
