Julia DiCocco Dewey is a judge for the Hartford District Superior Court in Connecticut.[1] She was appointed to the bench in 1998 by Governor John Rowland. Dewey was renominated and confirmed, on March 4, 2014, to a term that expires in 2022.[2]

Education

Judge Dewey earned a J.D. from Catholic University's Columbus School of Law in 1976.[3]

Career

Dewey currently sits on the Criminal Jury Court in Hartford, a position she has held since September 2008. Since her appointment to the bench, Dewey has served as Chief Administrative Judge for family matters, Presiding Judge of the New Haven and Waterbury Juvenile Courts, Bridgeport Criminal Court and the Bridgeport and New Haven Family Courts.[3]
