Kathy Hoogstra is a judge for the 14th Circuit Court in Muskegon County, Michigan. She was appointed to the court by Governor Rick Snyder on May 20, 2013, to replace retired Judge John Ruck. Hoogstra served out the remainder of Ruck's unexpired term and was later elected to a term of her own on November 4, 2014.[1] Her six-year term began on January 1, 2015, and expired on December 31, 2020.[2]

Education
Hoogstra received her undergraduate degree from Calvin College and her J.D. degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology's Chicago-Kent College of Law.[1]
Career
Hoogstra served as the probate court administrator for Muskegon County from 2007 until her appointment to the 14th Circuit Court in 2013. She has also served as a judicial law clerk for the 14th Circuit Court, as a public defender and as a family court referee for Muskegon County.[1]
