Mark Denton is a judge for Department 13 of the Nevada 8th Judicial District Court. He assumed office in 1998. His current term ends on January 4, 2027.

Education
In 1973, Denton graduated with distinction from the University of Nevada in Reno. He completed ROTC and received a commission in the U.S. Army as a reserve officer. While in college, Denton studied for a year in Paris, France, at the Universite' de Paris. Denton received his law degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington DC in 1976.[3]
Career
Upon graduation from law school, Denton practiced law at Denton & Denton with his father Ralph. The firm handled general practice cases, emphasizing business, commercial, corporate, real estate, probate, banking, personal injury law and litigation. His firm also handled criminal matters in state and federal court. He is presently a Master and is a past president of the Nevada American Inns of Court.
Denton was appointed to the District Court in 1998. Prior to this, he served as a municipal court judge in Boulder City for seven years. He was an arbitrator under the Court Annexed Arbitration Program of the Eighth Judicial District Court since its inception in 1992. He was an alternate juvenile court referee from 1980 and a Nevada Supreme Court settlement judge.[3]
2013 judicial performance evaluation
In 2013, the Las Vegas Review-Journal sponsored a survey of 902 lawyers who rated Nevada Supreme Court justices and judges located in Clark County. 93% of respondents voted in favor of keeping Denton on the bench. The average vote in favor of retention for all 88 judges evaluated was 71%.[4]
